Covid-19

We Prioritise Covid-19 Related Mental Illness

A mental illness crisis is looming as millions of people worldwide were forced into isolation causing PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and Stress by the pandemic of COVID-19, United Nations health experts say. ‘The isolation, the fear, the uncertainty, the economic turmoil – they all cause or could cause psychological distress,” said Devora Kestel, director of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) mental health department.

  • People with existing mental health issues getting worse

  • Those who suffer abuse due to the lockdown

  • Concerns over the wider general public of developing mental health issues

‘This crisis has severely impacted the mental health and wellbeing of whole societies and are a priority to be addressed urgently,’  she told reporters at a briefing, so it’s important to seek help as soon as you can.
